Marie-Claude Delahaye After organising numerous exhibitions, Marie-Claude eventually established The Absinthe Museum in June 1994. The museum is situated in Auvers-sur-Oise, the village famous for its painters where Vincent van Gogh and his brother, Theo, are buried. The small village is known for it's church and its Château, and is one of the high spots of French painting.

Organised by Château d'Auvers, the other Auvers's museums (Daubigny's workshop, Daubigny's Museum, the Absinthe Museum, House of Van Gogh), have joined together to offer a special pass given to you at your entrance when you visit the Château, giving you a reductions on your other visits.

Location

The Absinthe Museum is located in Auveres sur Oise, the Mecca of impressionism, near the Maison-Atelier de Daubigny, between the Auberge Ravoux where Van Gough lived, and the castle which offers a show-tour recounting life in the days of the impressionists.

The museum continues Absinthe's patronisation of art with this installation by artist Tien Heestermans. The upstairs floor of the museum is full of absinthe-inspired art.

Upstairs in the museum is a replica café-bar surrounded by many period adverts.

Madame Delayahe was acknowledged by the French Government with the official accreditation of her museum in April 2000.
